The PPCC Land Use Committee held a public meeting on October 17, 2019, to review Calvary Christian School's application for modifications to its Conditional Use Permit and Coastal Development Permit, which would allow construction of new buildings, increased student enrollment to 490 students, and reduced parking requirements. The Committee unanimously recommended that PPCC not oppose the application, contingent on Board approval of language regulating concurrent use of facilities at the site.

The City of Santa Monica began construction on September 23, 2019 to improve the beach path from south of the pier to the Annenberg Beach House, including widening it to create separate pedestrian and multi-use paths, with completion expected by November 2020. The County of Los Angeles plans a similar project from the Annenberg Beach House to Will Rogers State Beach pending California Coastal Commission approval, with construction expected to begin in fall 2020.
