  Pacific Palisades Community Council (PPCC) celebrated its 50 years of service with community members, elected officials, and representatives from numerous local organizations. The event included presentations of honors from government officials and recognition certificates for community volunteers and organizational leaders.

  The Pacific Palisades Community Council held its 2023 Holiday Dinner & Awards Gala at The Draycott, honoring Cindy Kirven as Citizen of the Year, Laura Schneider for library revival, Sara Marti with the Golden Sparkplug award, and recognizing the boards of Palisades PRIDE and individuals John Dwight and Steve Corn for community service. The event was attended to capacity with over 100 community guests and featured remarks from local elected officials.

  The Pacific Palisades Community Council announces two upcoming events: a beach cleanup with Supervisor Lindsey Horvath on June 17th at Ginger Rogers Beach followed by a celebration of newly painted progress pride flag lifeguard towers, and an in-person meeting with Councilwoman Traci Park on June 22nd at the Palisades Library Meeting Room with remote participation available.

  The Pacific Palisades Community Council held a 2023 Holiday Dinner & Awards Gala at The Draycott where multiple community members were honored for their contributions, including Citizen of the Year Cindy Kirven, Laura Schneider for library revival, the Palisades PRIDE board, Sara Marti for community outreach, and John Dwight and Steve Corn for beautification efforts. The document also includes a crime report noting a 5% increase in burglaries in the area and information about PPCC's wine fundraiser.

  

• 2nd LAPD Zoom Town Hall - tomorrow - and Area 8 Alternate Application Deadline

  The West LA Police Department is hosting a virtual town hall on January 3, 2023 at 6:30 PM to provide an update on recent burglary developments in the Pacific Palisades area. LAPD leadership thanked the community for their vigilance and support in addressing the recent crime spike.

  

• 50th Anniversary Jubilee & Temescal Canyon Update

  The Pacific Palisades Community Council is hosting its 50th Anniversary Jubilee & Community Celebration on Saturday, September 30 from noon to 4PM at Simon Meadow, featuring multiple local organizations, elected officials, booths, music, food, and awards. Additionally, contract work on Temescal Canyon Road is scheduled to begin on October 2 with repairs projected to be completed by the end of October.

  

• Application open for Area Eight 2nd Alternate

  Pacific Palisades Community Council is accepting applications for the Area Eight 2nd Alternate Representative position, which became vacant after the primary representative resigned and the 2nd alternate was promoted. Applicants must be Area Eight residents and submit a statement by January 7, 2024, with the elected representative serving until September 30, 2024.

• April 2023 Meetings Recap and More...

  The Pacific Palisades Community Council held meetings on April 11 and 27, 2023, where it voted to add two new member organizations (Pacific Palisades Americanism Parade Association and Palisades Forestry Committee), heard from the Bureau of Street Services about street improvements, discussed community outreach and safety initiatives, and addressed concerns about a development project in the Castellamare/Paseo Miramar area. The Council also celebrated its 50th anniversary alongside other local organizations and took positions on various community issues through letters to elected officials.
