  The Pacific Palisades Community Council is holding a candidates forum on August 8, 2024 at 6 pm in hybrid format at the Palisades Library and via Zoom for Area and At-large Representatives. Two candidates have withdrawn from the race, leaving contested races in Area 3 (Joe Layton and Julia Nilsen) and Area 6 (Lorie Cudzil and Michael Schwarz).

  The Pacific Palisades Community Council is conducting an election for Area and At-large Representatives with voting open until 8pm on August 30th. Eligible voters must be 18 or older as of August 30th, with residents voting for their Area Representative and residents, property owners, or business operators voting for the At-large Representative.

  The Pacific Palisades Park Advisory Board will meet on July 18, 2024 at 6:30 pm to consider approval of proposed designs for the Recreation Center Playground revamp. The deadline to submit applications and candidate statements for PPCC Board Area and At-large Representative positions is July 25, 2024 at 5pm, with new officers and candidates to be announced at a virtual board meeting on July 25.

Newly-elected representatives will take office on October 1, 2024.

  

• SB 549/Rebuilding Authority - Information Update

  SB 549, a proposed Rebuilding Authority bill, passed the state Senate in late May and is scheduled for an Assembly Local Government Committee hearing on July 16 at 1:30 pm. Senator Ben Allen will be a guest speaker at the Pacific Palisades Community Council meeting on July 17 to discuss the bill's history and answer questions.
