  The Pacific Palisades Community Council is inviting eligible candidates to apply for Area Representative and At-large seats for the 2024-2025 term, with candidate statements due by 5:00pm on July 25, 2024, and voting to commence in September. Newly-elected representatives will take office on October 1, 2024.

  

• SB 549/Rebuilding Authority - Information Update

  SB 549, a proposed Rebuilding Authority bill, passed the state Senate in late May and is scheduled for an Assembly Local Government Committee hearing on July 16 at 1:30 pm. Senator Ben Allen will be a guest speaker at the Pacific Palisades Community Council meeting on July 17 to discuss the bill's history and answer questions.

  The Pacific Palisades Community Council meeting scheduled for March 7th has been moved to 5PM to allow attendees to watch the State of the Union address at 6PM, with project managers from Jacobs Engineering and the City's Bureau of Engineering presenting on the Potrero Canyon Bridge Project. A separate community meeting on March 14th will provide further discussion of the bridge project, and the outreach contractor outlined a three-round public engagement strategy including surveys, notifications in English and Spanish, and multiple communication channels.

  The Pacific Palisades Community Council held an open forum on August 21, 2024, regarding the Pacific Palisades Pedestrian Trail project, which is required by the Coastal Development Permit for Potrero Canyon to provide coastal access. The community is invited to complete a survey by August 30, 2024, to provide input on the trail project, and voting for PPCC Area and At-large Representatives is ongoing through August 30, 2024.
