  The Pacific Palisades Community Council announced an Emergency Preparedness Town Hall scheduled for September 23 at 6:30pm featuring experts on wildfires and disaster preparedness, and provided clarification that SB 9 and 10 may be overridden by HOA CC&Rs and that LA Times inaccurately reported fire risk exemptions in SB 9.

  The Pacific Palisades Community Council and Pacific Palisades Task Force on Homelessness submitted letters opposing a proposal to site homeless housing at Will Rogers State Beach, citing fire danger concerns following the July 9th Tuna Canyon fire and questioning whether feasibility has been predetermined. PPTFH also urged state officials to deny approval for using the state park for homeless housing.

  The Pacific Palisades Community Council's Executive Committee submitted a letter to state agencies opposing the use of Will Rogers State Beach for homeless housing and advocating for continued unlimited public access to the state beach. Senator Ben Allen is scheduled to speak at the PPCC meeting on July 8, 2021 from 6:30-7:00pm.

  The Pacific Palisades Community Council held a public board meeting on February 11, 2021 featuring a Public Safety/Disaster Readiness Forum with LAPD and LAFD representatives and a wildfire safety advisor. A second forum was scheduled for February 25, 2021 to cover emergency preparedness programs and a LADWP water pressure update.

  The Pacific Palisades Community Council announced the recipients of its 2021 Citizen of the Year and Golden Sparkplug awards, honoring six community members for their contributions including environmental advocacy, park preservation, event organization, fire safety, and neighborhood beautification. The awards were to be presented on December 9, 2021 at a PPCC Board meeting via Zoom.

  On April 26, 2021, the Pacific Palisades Community Council sent letters to State Senator Ben Allen, State Assemblymember Richard Bloom, and County Supervisor Sheila Kuehl opposing a proposal to use state-owned and county-operated public beaches (Will Rogers State Beach and Dockweiler Beach) for homeless housing. The council requested that these elected officials reject the proposal.
