• Request for Revision of Proposed Amendments to DONE Code of Conduct

  Multiple neighborhood councils, including Pacific Palisades Community Council, passed a motion opposing proposed amendments to the DONE Code of Conduct, arguing that the amendments grant excessive discretion to the Department of Neighborhood Empowerment in determining guilt and imposing penalties without adequate due process protections for board and committee members. The councils requested that DONE revise the amendments in consultation with neighborhood council members to ensure proportionate penalties, minimum necessary corrections, and incorporation of workplace equity or violence policies.

  

• Request re RSO Housing Replacements

  A motion proposed on February 20, 2023 requests that the Los Angeles Housing Department presume all RSO units demolished under the Ellis Act are inhabited by low-income households and require 100% of replacement units to be rented at corresponding low-income rates, with alternative income verification methods for elderly, disabled, or undocumented tenants. The motion failed to be adopted by a majority of councils before the September 2023 deadline but was passed by five neighborhood councils including Bel Air-Beverly Crest, Palms, West LA-Sawtelle, Westside, and Westwood.

  

• Request to Address Wildfire Coastal Debris Catastrophe

  Multiple Westside neighborhood councils, including Pacific Palisades Community Council, adopted a motion in March-April 2025 requesting that city and county authorities address hazardous fire debris and toxic materials that have contaminated beaches following recent wildfires and rainstorms. The motion calls for immediate testing, public information sharing, and protective measures for coastal environments and beach users.

  

• Requests for Consideration re CF 22-0158

  The Westside Regional Alliance of Councils submitted requests for consideration regarding City Council file CF 22-0158, proposing that the city include homeless shelter protections, ensure CEQA compliance, maintain public notification and comment rights, and consider the effects of allowing shelters in R1 zones near sensitive sites. The motion was formally adopted by WRAC in June 2022 and passed by multiple neighborhood councils including Pacific Palisades Community Council in modified form.

• Run for PPCC Area & At-large Reps!

  The Pacific Palisades Community Council is inviting eligible candidates to apply for Area Representative and At-large seats for the 2024-2025 term, with candidate statements due by 5:00pm on July 25, 2024, and voting to commence in September. Newly-elected representatives will take office on October 1, 2024.

  

• SB 549/Rebuilding Authority - Information Update

  SB 549, a proposed Rebuilding Authority bill, passed the state Senate in late May and is scheduled for an Assembly Local Government Committee hearing on July 16 at 1:30 pm. Senator Ben Allen will be a guest speaker at the Pacific Palisades Community Council meeting on July 17 to discuss the bill's history and answer questions.

  

• SPECIAL March 5, 2026, Agenda; NORC Survey Discussion

  The Pacific Palisades Community Council is holding a special meeting on March 5, 2026 at 6:00 pm via Zoom to discuss the methodology and results of the PPCC-NORC Community Survey, moderated by Vice-President Quentin Fleming with guest speakers from NORC. • Safety Reminders/Digital Signs in Bus Shelters/Stay-at-Home Order

  The Pacific Palisades Community Council issued safety reminders about mask-wearing and social distancing in public spaces, informed the community about a proposed digital signage program in bus shelters that PPCC is opposing, and notified residents of a new stay-at-home order from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. The email also reported a fatal traffic accident on PCH and announced that the December PPCC meeting was cancelled with the next board meeting scheduled for January 14, 2021.
