  The Pacific Palisades and Brentwood Community Councils issued a joint message thanking firefighters, police, and first responders for their efforts during a recent fire. • Judge Carter Ruling in Federal Homeless Lawsuit Today 4/20/21

  U.S. District Court Judge David O. Carter issued a preliminary injunction on April 20, 2021, in a federal homeless lawsuit, ordering the City Controller to create a report within 30 days on land available for housing the homeless in each district. The Pacific Palisades Community Council Board scheduled a meeting for April 22, 2021, to consider a position statement opposing the use of beaches and parks for homeless housing.

The council announced an upcoming July 17, 2025 board meeting to discuss SB 549, a bill to establish a county authority for the Palisades.

  The Pacific Palisades Community Council held a meeting on June 13th where new officers were elected for the 2024-25 term, updates were provided on the Lateral Trail Project and Palisades Recreation Center playground redesign, and the board passed motions opposing congestion pricing and a motion that would complicate the use of LAMC 41.18. The next meeting is scheduled for June 26th at 6pm via Zoom.

  The Pacific Palisades Community Council held a meeting on June 22, 2023, featuring Councilwoman Traci Park as guest speaker to discuss her role as newly elected City Councilmember. The agenda included approval of draft meeting minutes, discussion of a draft Wildlife Ordinance that does not currently apply to the Palisades, and items on state Senate Bill 4 and officer transitions.

  LAPD and Mayor Karen Bass announced a shift in the Pacific Palisades security plan to deploy high-visibility patrols throughout the community 24 hours a day instead of fixed traffic control points, with continued use of automated license plate readers and other surveillance technology. A community meeting with LAPD leadership was scheduled for Monday, June 16 at 4:30pm to provide updates on public safety and access to the Palisades.

Additional announcements included Palisades PRIDE's installation of a new clock at Sunset and Swarthmore, a West LA Community Police Advisory Board holiday dinner on December 27, 2023, and winter storm warnings for the area.

  The Pacific Palisades Community Council is accepting applications for Alternate Area and At-large Representative positions with a deadline of 5pm on October 6, 2024, and nominees will be elected at the October 10 meeting. The council is also inviting community nominations for the 2024 Citizen of the Year and Golden Sparkplug awards with a deadline of October 26.
