Grants Committee Recommendation – Pali High School Softball
The PPCC Grants Committee is pleased to recommend a grant of $5,000 from donations that
PPCC has received to the Pacific Palisades Charter High School softball team to assist with the
recovery of the program.
Because of the Palisades Fire, many local athletic facilities sustained damage or became
temporarily unavailable. As a result, Palisades High School Softball has faced increased costs
associated with securing alternative practice locations and training spaces. Field availability has
been limited, requiring the team to rent practice space at outside facilities and book
commercial batting cages to ensure players can continue to train effectively Transportation
costs have also increased due to longer travel distances for both practices and games. Despite
these obstacles the team remains focused on providing student-athletes with a stable and
enriching experience during a time when continuity and community connection are more
important than ever.
The grant recommended by the PPCC Grants Committee provides $2,000 for the replacement
of equipment that was lost/damaged, $1,500 for batting cage rentals, $1,000 for practice field
rental, and approximately $500 for travel assistance. These funds will directly support the
student-athletes by ensuring access to safe equipment, consistent training environments and
competitive opportunities throughout the season.
