Pacific Palisades Community Council
NOTICE OF PPCC ELECTION - 2018
Applications for Area and At-large Representative Positions Now Welcome
(Pacific Palisades, CA) – Pacific Palisades Community Council (PPCC) is pleased to
announce that the candidate application process is now open for community members
interested in serving as Area Representatives or At-large Representative.
There are eight positions for which Palisadians can run for Area Representatives (one from
each area/neighborhood of the Palisades delineated by the PPCC Map on our website) and
one position for At-large Representative. Elected Reps will serve a two-year term on the
PPCC Board of Directors.
The Palisades is divided into eight neighborhoods in which the Area Representative is
responsible for serving. The Area Representative must reside within the specified area
boundaries as detailed on the PPCC website at www.pacpalicc.org. The At-large
Representative serves the entire community and must live, own property or run a business
within Pacific Palisades.
Area and At-large Representatives will be the voice of their constituents, bring issues to the
PPCC, learn first-hand about policy and land-use topics affecting the Palisades and vote on
matters of community-wide interest.
All interested parties must submit a candidate’s statement with a current photograph (digital
format). These will be included in election materials to be publicly distributed.
The statement shall not exceed 100 words and must include the number of years as a
resident of the Palisades, the number of years residing in the area in which the candidate is
seeking election, as well as the number of years at the current principal residence and the
address (Area Representatives). At-large Representative candidates running as business or
real estate stakeholders in the community must provide the current business address or
address of real property owned in the Palisades. In addition, the statement shall include a
position statement on issues the candidate believes are important to the community and/or to
the candidate’s area. Once elected, Representatives must immediately inform the Chair of a
change in principal residence.
Statements must be submitted prior to or at the PPCC meeting held in the Pacific Palisades
branch library community room on July 26, 2018 at 7 pm.
