Re: Public Comment on May 11, 2022 Meeting – Agenda Items W11-W14 (location: 16701 Via La Costa,
Pacific Palisades, CA)
Dear California Coastal Commission:
Pacific Palisades Community Council (PPCC) has been the most broad-based community organization and voice of
Pacific Palisades since its founding in 1973.
PPCC strongly supports public access to and proper maintenance of the bathrooms and hiking trail located at 16701
Via La Costa in the Palisades Highlands (the “Trailhead Property”). For many years, concerns related to these
matters have been frequently raised and discussed in public PPCC meetings. PPCC submitted letters to the CCC in
2018 and again in 2021, expressing the community’s significant concerns that public safety has been compromised
and access has been prevented as a result of the deplorable conditions at this site. See:

We urge the Commission to take appropriate action to assure access to and maintenance of the hiking trail and
bathrooms at the Trailhead Property going forward.
Thank you for your consideration and anticipated support for the Pacific Palisades community and for all who use
this trailhead.
Sincerely,
Executive Committee
Pacific Palisades Community Council
