PPCC Meeting Recap:7/28/22
Candidates for Area & At-large Elections Announced;
Committees & Liaisons Appointed; Community matters Discussed and more...
At its regularly scheduled meeting on 7/28, PPCC welcomed new Officers, Zar, Li, Holden-Garland and Young.
Zar introduced new Advisors and notes Committees having been appointed/reappointed, and those appointments have been reflected on the website. See

Notably, Rob Weber will continue as the Legal Advisor and Dillon Khoubian will begin his tern as Youth Advisor.

Jenny Li, Committee Chair, reported that the election committee is planning for election via on-line voting and paper ballot to be printed in Palisadian Post. Candidates were announced for all areas with two areas contested.
Candidates have been sent Code of Conduct for campaigning, including those who just announced candidacy right before this meeting. Basic rules are that candidates cannot link to ballot from websites or other sources and campaign materials cannot be posted on public property. Campaigning may begin at close of meeting. Voting will begin August 19 and will close Sept. 2.
Winners will be announced on September 8. Watch for PPCC website reminders, mailchimps, etc. for reminders to vote and link for electronic ballot ("vote" button will appear on the PPCC website).

Additional Discussions, Concerns and Motions:
Brush Clearance:
Area 4 and others
expressed
concern over brush clearance. President said she had had a discussion with Fire Child, Richard Fields about brush clearance and evacuation preparedness.

Outsized Building
:
Area 3 and others expressed a concern about outsized building that uses a lack of proper zoning codes in "doughnut hole" areas which do not have hillside or coastal zoning limitations, and end up with out-of-scale residential development. LUC is considering action.
Sidewalk Repair and
Street
Services:
Area 4 and others expressed concerns about sidewalk repair and street services. The President said she’d start email communication to see who can address the issues. Karen Ridgley also said Area 4 was in need of side walk clean up. The President said that according to CD 11 Deputy report some side walk clean up was being done in the Palisades, so it is possible. She would try to get someone to give us answers. Chris Spitz said shed refer the matter to WRAC Trans committee.

for Speed Limit Reduction (WRAC):
PPCC voted
to support a position in regards to the recent adoption of Ordinance 187427 regarding speed limit reductions.

Until further notice, all PPCC meetings will be held via Zoom at 6pm. There is one meeting only in each of the months of July & August.
