Pedestrian Trail Meeting & Survey
An "Open Forum" on the
Pacific Palisades Pedestrian Trail project
(aka the "lateral trail" to connect Potrero Canyon park with the PCH/Temescal Canyon Rd. intersection) took place at the Palisades library and online on
August 21, 2024,
with presentations by Kristen Ly of the City Bureau of Engineering (project manager) and Goodwin Wharton of Geosyntec (project consultant), as well as audience Q&A.
This was a preliminary meeting to inform the Palisades community that this project is underway and to obtain community feedback.

The presenters reiterated that
the trail is
required
by the Coastal Development Permit for Potrero Canyon to provide coastal access. They emphasized that trail development is in the early stages: funding is not necessarily in place
,
nor is a specific trail route.  A feasibility study will be undertaken and results of a topographic study (in progress) must be received before trail design options are completed.
The City has committed to schedule another community meeting in the months ahead (TBA).

Complete the Trail Survey
by 5pm, Friday, 8/30!
The community is invited to share thoughts about the trail project by completing a brief
online survey
(also linked in the graphics above and green button below).
These links take you directly to the survey.
Survey responses will be accepted until
5pm, Friday, August 30, 2024.
PPCC strongly encourages everyone to take the survey. It's easy --
only takes a minute or two of your time
. . . and it's crucial to convey to City engineers and planners the Palisades community's opinions and concerns about the potential impacts of this major project.
Again, because the City is committed to study the possibilities and return to the community,
your input is important!
