Grants Commi,ee Recommenda1on – Corpus Chris1 School
The PPCC Grants Commi0ee is pleased to recommend a grant of $5,000 from dona7ons that PPCC has
received to Corpus Chris7 School, toward the purchase of STEAM*-related learning equipment for the
reopening of the school in Fall 2026.
Corpus Chris7 School explains: “The Corpus Chris7 STEAM Room will transform a refurbished
classroom into a flexible, modern innova7on lab where students can engage in project-based learning
across science, technology, engineering, art, and mathema7cs.”
Corpus Chris7 School also advises: “This project is a cri7cal part of our campus rebuilding plan
following the fire. The STEAM Room will not only restore an essen7al learning environment but will
also symbolize our community’s renewal; equipping students to explore how crea7vity and
technology can serve others.”
The Corpus Chris7 School grant request outlines the intent to equip the classroom with such items as
robo7cs kits, 3D printers and design tools to provide hands-on technology enhanced learning. For
example, they specify two-person LEGO Robo7c Kits with a price of approximately $430 each. STEAM
learning is highly sought and will help Corpus Chris7 a0ract both returning and new students.
By helping to ensure that students returning to Corpus Chris7 School will have an engaging learning
space, this grant would support the goal of overall Palisades Fire Recovery. The Grants Commi0ee
urges the PPCC Board to approve a $5,000 grant to Corpus Chris7 School for the purpose described
above.
