A Huge Success!
OUR HOLIDAY DINNER & AWARDS GALA
at Casa Nostra on December 12th was
a great success and enjoyed by all!

Here's a brief recap:
A crowd of enthusiastic supporters packed Casa Nostra to celebrate the achievements of our amazing Honorees, and also enjoyed a delicious dinner and participated in fun live and silent auctions!
Citizen of the Year:
Cindi Young
Golden Sparkplugs:
Leslie Campbell & Carlos Rodriguez
Pride of the Palisades:
Thomas Hathaway
PPCC President Sue Kohl, Vice-President Quentin Fleming
and
Area Seven Rep Sharon Kilbride
presented the Honorees in turn with remarks of appreciation and handsome commemorative awards and plaques from PPCC.  Each awardee expressed heartfelt thanks for the honors (Thomas Hathaway's wife Dalena Hathaway graciously accepted the award on his behalf as he was unable to attend).
We were honored that
LAUSD Board Member Nick Melvoin
attended and presented congratulatory remarks to the awardees, along with his Senior Advisor
Allison Holdorff,
who distributed certificates from Member Melvoin.  We also appreciated that our other respected elected officials provided beautiful scrolls and certificates which were presented by their representatives in attendance:
Marian Ensley for Mayor Karen Bass; Michael Amster for Councilwoman Traci Park; Zac Gaidzik for Supervisor Lindsey Horvath; Anthony Avila for Asm. Jacqui Irwin; Samantha Gallegos for Sen. Ben Allen;
and
Sean Regan for Congressman Brad Sherman.
Our volunteer auctioneer "par excellence,"
Jimmy Dunne,
energized the crowd who generously bid on the fabulous live auction items donated by the
Station 69 firefighters
(dinner with the firefighters and a ride through town in the fire truck!);
Councilwoman Park
(coffee with the CW and a City Hall tour); and the
Tiger Woods Foundation
(Genesis Invitational clubhouse tickets and pin flag signed by past Masters and Genesis Invitational winner Hideki Matsuyama!). Thanks to our live auction donors; to all the donors of our unique silent auction items, and to everyone who also generously bid on the items to help support the work of PPCC.
Last but not least, President Sue Kohl thanked our wonderful first responders from LAFD and LAPD in attendance:
Firefighter/PM Brian Sacramone;
our
SLO Brian Espin; Officer Adam Margin; Sgt. Scott Alpert;
and
SLO Peter Ojeda
(also from LAPD West LA Division).
We are so grateful for their efforts to keep us safe during dangerous events such as the recent Franklin Fire . . . and every day!
