PACIFIC PALISADES COMMUNITY COUNCIL

March 21, 2026

LA28 Resilience Champions Fund Committee
1000 N. Alameda Street, Suite 240
Los Angeles, CA 90012

To the LA28 Resilience Champions Fund Committee:

Pacific Palisades Community Council (PPCC) since 1973 has been the most broad-based organization in
Pacific Palisades, the community that was devastated in the Palisades Fire. Acting through its Executive
Committee pursuant to PPCC’s bylaws, PPCC is pleased to offer its support for the Santa Monica
Mountains Fire Safe Council’s application for a LA28 Resilience Champions Fund grant.

PPCC is aware of the organization’s dedication to building wildfire resilience through community
education and innovative restoration programs. The Santa Monica Mountains Fire Safe Council has
addressed a critical need in the region, serving as a trusted resource for both residents and partner
organizations. They are committed to providing wildfire prevention education and wildfire mitigation
support, and we are confident this project will make a meaningful difference in the Palisades community.

We proudly endorse the proposal and look forward to the ongoing positive impact of this important
work.
Sincerely,

Pacific Palisades Community Council
Executive Committee:
Sue Kohl, President; Quentin Fleming, Vice-President; Jenny Li; Treasurer; Beth Holden-Garland,
Secretary; Maryam Zar, Chair Emeritus; Chris Spitz, Elected Representative (At-large); John Padden,
Organizational Representative (Palisades P.R.I.D.E)
