SLO Brian Espin Report, January 10, 2025
Good Evening Everyone,
I am sorry for the delay in sending out what info I can get to pass along. I have been a little busy running
around the neighborhood and recently have been assigned to the Unified Command Post as an advisor
to show all the outside agencies the intricacies or our community. I wish I could take each and everyone
of you out to the neighborhood to check on your homes and retrieve property, I sincerely apologize but I
am not able to. Please read the bullet points below as they are very important to our area and the active
firefight going on.
• Stay out of the area, We are under the direction of the Fire Departments unified command. The
area is still a mandatory evacuation zone. It is still unsafe for people to be walking around in the
neighborhoods. I understand everyone wants to check on their property's. Our resources are
stretched very thin and the Officers having to stop and escort residents out of the area keeps
them from patrolling the neighborhoods to catch the bad elements that are trying to take
advantage of our vulnerable community.
• If you need crucial medication, You can go to the intersections of Sunset Bl /Allenford . PCH /
Chautauqua (by foot) to have a Police escort (only for medication, not to check on a residence).
You must be very patient as the wait time is above 2-3 hours. And it is only operational during the
daytime hours.
• Reporting a missing person, any family member who wishes to report a missing person from the
Pacific Palisades should call LAPD Missing Persons Unit at 213-996-1800 and directed to
choose option 3. We are trying not to duplicate reports and keep it mainstreamed to the
Palisades Fire Incident.
• Do Not Fly Drones, We have already had an incident of a drone hitting one of the firefighting
aircraft. This is dangerous and took out one of our crucial pieces of firefighting equipment out of
the game and cannot fight the active fire.
I understand the frustration with not knowing what is going to happen next. I will try my best to send out
what ever relevant information I get from the Incident Command Post when anything changes. My plea
is for everyone to stay clear of the area and NOT Sneak into the neighborhood especially along PCH and
the beach. Once the Fire Department says it is safe for people to come back into the neighborhood I will
pass along the info. But it needs to come from the Unified Command Post. Be safe and take care.
