  The Pacific Palisades Community Council requests Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. to veto SB 649, arguing the bill undermines local control over wireless telecommunications facilities, excludes fire departments and coastal zones from protections, and poses public safety risks in fire-prone hillside communities. The council contends the legislation is unnecessary, unfair, and does not require providers to develop 5G infrastructure or close the digital divide.
