  LAFD Chief R. Fields discussed fire emergency preparedness and evacuation challenges with Pacific Palisades Community Council representatives on July 27, addressing concerns about hillside evacuation routes, brush clearance, and the need for improved community communication during wildfire events. Chief Fields emphasized that evacuation plans are solid but communication strategies need strengthening, and agreed to work with the community council to develop a neighborhood-specific fire preparedness plan.

  Councilmember Bonin announced that ALERTWildfire camera installation began on October 5 at San Vicente Peak in the Santa Monica Mountains, with additional cameras planned for Westridge Trail and Canyonback Trail. The high-definition cameras, part of a university consortium network, will provide firefighters and the public with enhanced situational awareness for fire detection and response.

  The Pacific Palisades Library is holding a holiday parking lot book sale on Saturday, November 23 from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, featuring children's books, cookbooks, fiction, nonfiction, and coffee table books, with proceeds supporting library acquisitions.
