  On March 23, 2017, the Pacific Palisades Community Council discussed the Shell Station at 15401 Sunset Boulevard regarding extended operating hours and alcohol sales. The Council failed to pass a motion on extended hours and declined to reach consensus on the Conditional Use Beverage Permit, instead encouraging continued dialogue between the applicant and community.

  PPCC Chair Maryam Zar issued a statement regarding a fatal accident on Sunset Boulevard and Chautauqua on April 2, 2017, involving a teen driver and a bike rider. The statement addresses community concerns about motorcycle riders, notes that the accident's cause has not been determined to be excessive speed, and announces that LAPD's West Traffic Division Captain will attend the April 13th PPCC board meeting to discuss the incident and street safety.

  The Mar Vista Community Council passed a motion requesting that the Los Angeles City Council seek information from the FAA regarding changes to flight approach paths to LAX that began in October 2015, which have resulted in increased noise and lower altitude flights over Mar Vista and other neighborhoods.   The Pacific Palisades Community Council opposes the installation of wireless telecommunications antennas and cell towers at 302 Mt. Holyoke and in public rights of way without advance written notice to nearby property owners and homeowner associations, and without wireless providers developing a comprehensive master plan for all installations in the community. The master plan should include coverage assessments, feasibility analyses, design options, and community input surveys.

  The Pacific Palisades Community Council opposes AB 2788, arguing that the bill would excessively restrict local government authority to regulate wireless telecommunications facilities in public rights of way and on public property, particularly in environmentally sensitive areas like the Coastal Zone. The organization urges the Senate Energy, Utilities & Communications Committee to vote against the bill and requests that Assemblymember Gatto withdraw it.
