  LADWP held a December 11, 2025 community meeting to discuss utility undergrounding efforts in Pacific Palisades, including a 6.5-mile conduit system under construction, plans for Load Block 5 (the Alphabets) as the first residential undergrounding area with a timeline expected in February 2026, and guidance for residents and builders on installing combo panels and underground conduit. LADWP committed to monthly community meetings, pursuing federal and state funding, and opening a new Palisades Inspections and Permitting Support Center in early 2026 to support rebuilding efforts.

  The Pacific Palisades Community Council held its 2023 Holiday Dinner & Awards Gala at The Draycott, honoring Cindy Kirven as Citizen of the Year, Laura Schneider for library revival, Sara Marti with the Golden Sparkplug award, and recognizing the boards of Palisades PRIDE and individuals John Dwight and Steve Corn for community service. The event was attended to capacity with over 100 community guests and featured remarks from local elected officials.

• City Planning Commission Action on Proposed Commercial Cannabis Sign Ordinance – 12

  The Los Angeles City Planning Commission adopted a staff report recommending the Commercial Cannabis Sign Ordinance on December 21, 2017, with modifications including adding day care centers and permanent supportive housing as sensitive uses protected by an 800-foot distance limitation on offsite signs, prohibiting certain sign types while allowing pole and monument signs, and removing the 75 square foot maximum onsite sign size limitation. The matter will be referred to City Council committees for further consideration before a final vote.
