  House Museum announces Project Chimney, an initiative to catalogue, relocate, and memorialize over 55 historically significant chimneys designed by architects Frank Lloyd Wright Jr., Paul R. Williams, and Richard Neutra that survived the Pacific Palisades fire. The project aims to create a permanent public memorial installation called The Palisades Fire Memorial to preserve architectural heritage and resist cultural erasure.

  California Insurance Commissioner Ricardo Lara reported that most insurance companies are now paying wildfire survivors up to 75-100 percent of contents coverage without requiring a detailed inventory, following his request to reduce red tape for policyholders. The Department of Insurance is also sponsoring SB 495, the Eliminate the List Act, which would require insurers to pay 100 percent of contents coverage without an itemized list and grant consumers at least 180 days to provide proof of loss.

  The Palisades Forestry Committee announced the planting of 13 free street trees on Hartzell Street between Sunset and Bestor Boulevards on March 24, 2022, as part of a centennial initiative to plant 100 trees in Pacific Palisades neighborhoods and parks. The trees, provided through the City Plants program, will be planted by the L.A. Conservation Corps with homeowners responsible for watering them for three years.

Lieu issued a statement urging President Trump to support congressional efforts to address homelessness, specifically recommending the Fighting Homelessness Through Services and Housing Act and the Ending Homelessness Act of 2019.   Congressman Ted W. Lieu announced the relocation of his Los Angeles district office to 1645 Corinth Ave., Suite 101, which is co-located with offices of Councilmember Mike Bonin and Supervisor Sheila Kuehl. The new office offers free parking, proximity to public transportation and the West Los Angeles VA campus, while the Manhattan Beach and DC offices remain unchanged.
